Organic image 3

ArtHere is the third in what is turning out to be a bit of a series of organic paintings. Not as good as the last, but they do look nice together.

Bold Painting

Art
This is last nights effort. I had a cheep smaller canvas and thought, lets experiment. I started by squeezing paint direct from the tube onto the canvas to form the basic pattern, and then using a large brush merged the colours along the lines formed. Then I used a gel additive to extend the colour into the spaces to fill out the canvas. This painting only uses four colours plus white, and has a lot of texture as I left the paint every thick, with high ridges in places. It was a lot of fun and I think the earthy colours are great. Best viewed from a bit of a distance.

Colourful Painting

Art
I've been doing a little painting again over easter. This one started out quite different, and then I thought I'd stuffed it, so I just let random luck drive the brush for a bit, and it became much more organic feeling, and colourful. Maybe too colourful, and I'm not sure if I will do anything more with it, or just leave it as it for now.

Some older pastel drawings

ArtJust for fun I thought I'd add some older pastel drawings that I did up to a year ago.

Organic Colour Burst

Art

I wanted to paint something totally abstract, without premeditation, without really thinking. There was some fantastic music on the internet radio, and I just went with the organic flow of the bright, cheerful music, and this was the result. Its on a big canvas too, so its looks pretty good I think. It sure was a lot of fun.

Dreamy Girl

Art

This pastel has worked quite nicely, and I think it does capture Mayumi quite well. It started out to be a blue girl, but she ended up looking very serene, which is much nicer.

Trust Me

Art

I've been chipping away at this one for a while. Its the most complex painting so far, and its a way to vent my frustrations at the same time. See how much of the story you can get out of it.

Trusting in Love

Art

It appears the sad lady was looking for love in her younger years, as she has appeared again in todays painting.

Sad Lady

Art

I don't know where this sad lady came from. I just had an urge to paint a face (which I would avoid as faces are sooooo hard), but this one appeared very quickly. Again, the photo is not so good, sorry.

The faces series

Art

I initially drew a few images in pastel around the idea of two overlayed faces. I liked the outcome, so I have tried to replicate the images, and expand them, into some full sized paintings. There photos are not very good as its off my phone camera, but it will give you an idea.
